"I simply went online to Morehouse or CPI to order a desk calendar and an Episopal shield for my car.. I was referred to the Seattle Independent Episcopal Bookstore. To my surprise and delight I received a warm and personal response from John explaining the processing of my order, and when the package arrived a handwritten thank you... all accompanied with "Blessings" from John and Nancy. I was in the care, not of an organization, but of my very own church family, on the opposite coast, offering personal blessings and care, in addition to the items I needed. I can't wait to go to Seattle so I can meet them at the bookstore.
Thanks, John and Nancy, and God Bless You!

Here is an excerpt from this translation of the familiar Psalm 23:
The Lord is my shepherd.
I lack nothing.
He lets me rest in grassy meadows;
he leads me to restful waters;
he keeps me alive.
The Episcopal General Convention voted July 11-12, 2012, to adopt an amendment to their canon on Bible translations. Canon II.2 now includes the Common English Bible and is endorsed by the House of Bishops and House of Deputies. On the first birthday of the CEB, with the Apocrypha, we are excited to be endorsed as acceptable for use in Episcopal worship and personal study.
The Common English Bible is written in contemporary idiom at the same reading level as the newspaper USA TODAY- using language that is comfortable and accessible for today's readers.
"It's a rare and wonderful thing when undisputedly strong scholarship and reader accessibility come together, and yet that's exactly what's happened in this new and altogether impressive translation of the scriptures, the Common English Bible. You'll find yourself reading certain passages as if for the first time. I highly commend the Common English Bible to scholars, students, and seekers alike who want to explore the richness of God's Word in a fresh way."
-The Rev. Dr. C. K. Robertson, Canon to the Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church
