"I imagine the kingdom of God to be where everyone expresses love and care for others and where there is harmony and peace. The Episcopal Bookstore would be the bookstore in the kingdom, for the staff always seem to operate by kingdom values. My experience over the years has been nothing but topnotch."

This edition combines The Book of Common Prayer 1979 and The Hymnal 1982 in one elegant volume bound in genunine leather. For those who sing in the Episcopal Church regularly, combining the prayer book with the Episcopal Hymnal makes a handy gift, for yourself or someone you care about.
Printed on special lightweight paper, this combination edition makes a useful and attractive gift. It is chancel size (5-7/8 x 8-1/4). It includes gold page edges, six ribbon markers, and comes in its own gift box. This volume is ideal for choir members, lay readers, clergy or others whose activities keep them juggling the two books.

ISBN-13: 978-0-89869-243-3
This volume now includes the Revised Common Lectionary replacing the former Sunday Eucharistic Lectionary. (The Daily Office Lectionary has not changed and it remains as it has been in this book.)
The Episcopal Church uses the prayer book during worship, in the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, as well as during the Daily Offices of Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Compline. Episcopalians also value The Book of Common Prayer (prayer book) for daily private devotions and prayers.

Thanks!

I've wanted this book for ages but always saw it as an unnecessary luxury. Now I've given myself it as a self-b'day present, and I love it. It's just the same old prayer book and hymnal but it is a thing of beauty. I shall treasure it for many birthdays to come. And I'm grateful that the delivery of the book was as quick as it was, even with the imprinted name

I purchased this as a gift for myself and even splurged by having my name imprinted on the front cover ... and I'm only sorry I waited so long to do so. It's a welcome companion on Sunday mornings when I go to church ... and even midweek when I look up special prayers for daily meditations. It's already one of my most prized possessions. The care with which my order was handled and the speed with which this product was shipped were really impressive. True customer service is becoming a lost art ... but not with you. Thank you again.

This is the second BCP/Hymnal I have purcahsed from the Seattle bookstore, with name imprinted on the front. This is the ONLY place I know that you can get the imprint. The customer service and shipping are outstanding and the book arrived in perfect condition. This was a gift for my daughter's college graduation and she is thrilled, as am I. Do not hesitate to order from this company, you will not be disappointed!

This combination BCP/Hymnal saves so much time, space, and shuffling around during church! It is perfect for a choir member like me. I also would recommend it for anybody who wants to have both the BCP and Hymnal 1982 at their fingertips while at church and at home.
My parents gave this to me for my confirmation, and it is really a lovely book with the red leather, gold embossed cross (& they were able to have my name embossed in the lower right-hand corner of the cover, too), and gold-edged pages.

A book every Episcopalian should own. |
Six months in the pew as an Episcopalian, juggling a prayer book and a hymn book throughout the service, is long enough to appreciate the beauty of having one book with everything you need for the service. One wonders why this would not be the standard book in the pews, but the obvious answer is the very thin paper required to get that many pages in a single book makes it a bit fragile for multi-person use. But it is like a nice bible. You don't tear the pages; you just turn them gently and arrive where you want. The quality is beautiful and, of course, the leather cover is the crowning touch. I just bought my second one after losing the first with 15 years duty. (No name engraving on the first, but the second has my name, front and center.)
